We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What this website collects
This site is a shop window. It has no forms, no user registration, no comments, and it uses no analytics or advertising tools. It installs no tracking cookies and builds no visitor profiles.
Two things happen anyway, as on any website:
- Server logs. The server hosting the site keeps technical access records — IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type — for security and diagnostics.
- Typefaces. The pages use fonts from the Google Fonts service, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address in order to serve those files.
When you book
The booking button takes you to the Ynnov booking engine, which is not part of this website. There you are asked for the data a booking needs: name, email, telephone, address and country, dates of stay, number of guests and any special requests.
We use that data to manage the booking and the stay, to meet the legal obligations of tourist accommodation in Portugal — including reporting the guest registration form to the competent authorities — and to issue the invoice.
If the booking comes through Booking.com or Airbnb, it is those platforms that pass your data to us, under their own privacy policies.
Payments
Payments are processed by IfThenPay — Multibanco reference, MB WAY or bank transfer. We neither receive nor store credit card details. When we send a card payment link, the details are entered directly with the payment provider.
When you write to us
If you write to us by email or on WhatsApp, we keep the message and the contact details you give us for as long as we need them to reply and to look after your stay. The WhatsApp messaging service belongs to Meta and has its own privacy policy.
On what legal basis
- Performance of a contract — bookings, arrivals, the stay itself and answering your requests.
- Legal obligation — reporting guests to the authorities, invoicing and keeping tax records.
- Legitimate interest — the security of the site and of our systems.
For how long
Invoices and accounting records are kept for ten years, as Portuguese law requires. Booking data and messages are kept for as long as they are needed and deleted once they are not.

- Booking.com and Airbnb — when the booking comes through those platforms
- Our accountant — for tax compliance
We do not sell or pass on personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, and for it to be corrected, deleted, restricted or ported, and you may object to certain processing. Write to info@urbanmaster.pt and we will reply as soon as we can.
If you believe we have not handled the matter as we should, you may complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados, at www.cnpd.pt.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page, with the date updated.
